Introduction

Cheese production in the region started in 1967 as a Belgian priest appointed to the Imsil Catholic Church brought its production from Europe. Ever since then, locals have taken over the production of cheese and the village has become the main producer of cheese for the local market. Visitors can participate in various experience programs, get around the village in tractors while villagers explain about the facilities, and more. Visitors can even try making mozzarella cheese and using it to cook a delicious lunch. This is a must for any cheese lover visiting Korea.
